Laura Benjamin figured she'd give blogging a try.
The Colorado Springs, CO mother of three and professional communicator and coach took a liking to it. As any good blogger would do, she focused her efforts on one thing. Laura developed a blog network for her now-defunct high school alma mater, Rochester, NY's Cardinal Mooney High.
Laura started with an alum page. Slowly, the feedback trickled in. One of the early messages came from Matt Marquardt, who still lives in the Rochester area and worked at a local telecom, PAETEC. Matt wrote, looking for his birth mother, who he believed had been a Mooney grad in the early 70's.
A Mooney alum from the era quickly alerted Laura of the potential birth mom's whereabouts. Next thing she knew, Laura was arranging for the two to meet. The joyful reunion was a powerful experience for all involved and another transcendent moment in the blogosphere.

HI Jim, Thanks for posting this story. It was a thrill to be able to help Matt through the blog and a helpful third party. However, it was his investigator who coordinated the contact that led to the meeting.
What a kick to be part of the happy process, however! Perhaps this will provide hope to others who are trying to reunite!
Laura
