PAETEC-ulation

As PAETEC recalibrates its second quarter performance and prepares to announce the details this week, questions keep percolating about the telecom's ability to keep its promise to build Rochester's tallest building.

The stock hit absorbed by Arnuas Chesonis' company keeps people watching PAET like the price of a barrel of oil.

A couple of places make it their business to keep track of this sort of thing. Not only what the share price is, but also, who's buying.

PAETEC's ability to deliver its end of the Midtown deal isn't the only question rising in Midtown. How about the Duffy administration's ability to respond should bad news arrive? And will New York State's commitment to the project survive the budget bloodletting expected from this month's special legislative session with Governor David Paterson.

The mayor's speaking about a Plan B already. Will it include a plan to provide regular updates and answers to questions about the viability of the PAETEC HQ project?
